The Up Lamp is made of stainless steel and stands as high as 8 feet tall.  Each articulating joint relies on a set of self locking washers made by Nord-lock.

The lamp was inspired by the artist, Momo, who in 2002 dripped a continuous thin line of orange paint that zigzagged across Lower Manhattan.  Although very intriguing all by itself, the line spells the artist's name.  His claim to fame is having tagged the entire width of Manhattan.  Momo's work is beautiful.

I also found inspiration in one of my favorite designs, the model six stool by Jeff Covey.  To me, Covey's stool is one of the finest examples of a well balanced piece of production furniture.
